8 Portia Street is a one bedroom terraced (bottom floor) flat, which was originally built between 1930-1949. Once purchased by ourselves, we began renovations which were completed in 2023.
The property itself includes: one bedrooms, a living space, a kitchen and one bathroom. This property was redesigned interiorly by one of young apprentices who decided to create a more minimalistic feel with the grey cool tones rather than modern monochromatic style in which will be found is some of our other properties.
The kitchen was co-designed by our apprentice and Howdens Joinery. When working together they decided on dove grey cabinets complimented by wooden countertop to create a cozy feel within the kitchen itself. Following this decision, the use of a white sink was to incorporate the untiled walls within the kitchen while also making the kitchen appear clean and tidy. Another aspect which was used in this flat was the dove grey skirting boards and doors- the use of this colour flows through this property making it appear cohesive and thus more aesthetically pleasing.
Both the living space and bedroom contain dark grey carpets to reduce stains and damage but include accent walls to break up the space and make the space appear longer. Finally, the bathroom follows the theme of the grey scales to continue the comforting and homely feel, it includes and shower-bath, a sink cabinet and toilet (all brand-new). The bathroom also includes small details such as, inbuilt shelving.
Throughout the property, all new plumbing and heating systems have been installed including: a new boiler, radiators and all pipe work. Plus, full new rewire which involves; a consumer unit, spotlights in all rooms and hallways. Also, recently redone plaster work, damp proofing and skimming all walls and ceilings.
Then, all joinery was completed for example: Doorframes, Doors, Ironmongery, Skirting boards, Architrave, Kitchen and Flooring.
8 Portia is currently being rented out at a price of £450 per month and is valued at £140,000.
